SMS Terms

Mechanica sends one-to-one conversational text messages to auto repair shop owners and managers who have asked to hear from us. Messages cover scheduling a product demo, confirming and reminding you about a demo you booked, rescheduling when one of us misses it, and answering a question you asked. We do not send marketing blasts, and we do not add your number to any list you did not ask to be on.

There are exactly two ways, and both are yours to start:

1. On this website. The contact form at the bottom of our home page has an unchecked consent box next to your phone number. Checking it and submitting the form is your opt-in. The box reads:

   “Text me about my demo. I agree to receive text messages from Mechanica at the number above about scheduling, confirming and rescheduling a demo. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help.”

2. On a phone call with us. If we are talking and you ask us to text you something, we will confirm out loud that you are agreeing to receive texts at that number, and we record the date, time and number with the call.

Consent to receive text messages is never a condition of purchasing anything from us. Leave the box unchecked and we will use email and the phone instead.

• Hey Keith, it’s Del from Mechanica. Looking forward to talking in a little bit. Reply STOP to opt out.
• Hey Dan, it’s Del from Mechanica. Looks like we missed each other this morning, no stress at all. Want me to grab us another time this week? Happy to work around the shop’s schedule. Reply STOP to opt out.
• Hey Sam, Del from Mechanica. I’ll quit bugging you. If you ever want that look at automatic estimate writing, text or call this number any time and we’ll set it up. Reply STOP to opt out.

Message frequency varies. In practice this is a conversation, not a campaign: expect a handful of messages around a demo you booked, and none at all between them.

Message and data rates may apply. Mechanica does not charge you for text messages; your mobile carrier may, according to your plan.

Reply STOP to any message and we will stop texting that number. You will get one confirmation that the request went through, and nothing after it. You can also email del@getmechanica.com or tell us on a call.

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery depends on your carrier and your handset, and neither is under our control.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are never shared with any third party. See the full Privacy Policy.
